HERKIMER BLACK DRUSY QUARTZ

Maybe the most collectible depending on which Herkimer collector you're asking is the " Black Drusy "

Heavily included herkimers at the drusy base with gem herkimers that grow as a secondary generator make for one of the most dramatic contrasts in nature. This video does not do this piece justice.

Mined in 1990s this piece was part of a large plate that was famously found in Treasure Mountain. A private mining area that produced some of the most notable herkimers to date. This plus one other thumbnail that is offered here on this site are the only two pieces that came from the pocket other than the one large cluster. This was the only black drusy pocket found at that location for another 4 years when just a small pocket was discovered. These pockets are very uncommon and not seen often especially from Treasure Mountain.
