HERKIMER DIAMOND GEM SINGLE QUARTZ CRYSTAL

I love the big gems. Finding a large single with no contacts or keys is pretty uncommon and they generally come this size from Middleville area. The area is well known for two mines but the mine this came from is now closed. The Ace of Diamonds Mine is a historical mine in Herkimer History and this single is a good representation of what you'd love to pull from a pocket. This one is camera shy like the rest and much better in person. 

It has a slight smoky hue thats caused by scattered hydrocarbon as well as a great botryoidal section of anthraxolite that is very cool to observe since the texture is very obvious without it causing interruption.

This gem is a nice size at 23.9 Grams and measures approx 3.8 cmx 3.2 cm 2.2
